Irida’s French Toast Recipe

Total time 20 minutes 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 eggs 
  • 1 cup of milk (or vegan alternative) 
  • 1 vanilla bean, or 1 tsp vanilla extract 
  • 1 pinch of salt 
  • 4 thick slices of bread 

(about ¾ inch each) 

  • ½ cup Gold of Irida EVOO 

 

Method: 

  1. Whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt in a bowl and set aside.
  2. Place the bread in a large ovenproof dish that can hold the bread and pour over the egg mixture. 
  3. Let them sit for 10 minutes and absorb the mixture.
  4. Pre-heat a pan over medium low heat and add EVOO.
  5. Add the slices to the pan one by one and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden. 
  6. Serve with a drizzle of honey, a sprinkle of cinnamon and a handful of berries. 

 

For serving: 

  • 4 tbsp Greek thyme honey
  • 4 tbsp cinnamon 
  • Handful of fresh blueberries or raspberries
